Plenty of people do DM, and for a friend's loop that is still the fastest route. It stops working the moment you need to show the deal to somebody else: a price on record, proof the person you paid is the person who made the sound, and a document a distributor will accept. If the creator is already on Clearable it is faster too, because they get one request carrying the release details instead of working it out across six messages.
No. A buyer runs the whole deal from one tracking link. Accounts are for creators: sounds, requests, payouts and contracts.
Invite them from the search box with their name and your email. The Clearable team reaches out, and you get one email the day their sounds are ready to clear.
The creator sets it. Until they send a number there is no price on the request at all. Clearable shows them a suggested range based on the buyer's release size and flags a counter landing more than three times above it, but never blocks one. The buyer can counter back.
No. Clearances are non-exclusive and the creator keeps licensing the sound. The usage tier (Standard, Premium or Unlimited) is fixed by the buyer's size at signing and written into the agreement. A sound retired to one artist alone is an exclusive buyout, negotiated with the creator directly.
Nothing breaks. The artist and the creator agree a new number for the size the song is at now, and the rights extend from there. It never turns into a royalty. Each side registers the song with their own society.
